Set up your first project
Create a project, add your brand, prompts, competitors and AI assistants, then run your first check.
On this page
Create a project
- 1Go to Projects and click Create project.
- 2Enter a Project name. It's a display name you can change later.
- 3Enter your Brand name and Primary domain. Use a domain only, like example.com, without https:// or a path.
- 4Optionally pick up to 5 countries under Countries (optional). Leave it empty to use the default country.
- 5Optionally add Other names (optional): other spellings, abbreviations or names in other languages, one per line (up to 20).
- 6Click Create project. AnswrForge opens the project's Setup page.
Each project tracks one brand. It starts as a draft, so you can review everything before the first check runs.
Check your brand and countries
On the Brand tab, AnswrForge uses your brand name, domain and other names to recognize your brand in AI answers. Edit them if needed and click Save brand.
These recognition settings become fixed after your first accepted check. To track different brand details later, create a new project.
Countries stay editable; click Save countries after a change. Where supported, AnswrForge runs a separate check for each country. Your prompt wording stays the same.
Add your prompts
- 1Open the Prompts tab and click Add prompts.
- 2Type or paste your prompts, one per line. Lines that already exist are skipped.
- 3Optionally choose a group under Group for all of them.
- 4Click the button at the bottom, for example Add 5 prompts.
Prompts are the questions your buyers ask AI assistants. Write each one the way a real person would ask.
Add competitors
- 1Open the Competitors tab and click Add competitor.
- 2Enter the Competitor name, and optionally a domain and other names.
- 3Click Add competitor to save.
Competitors are optional, and you can change them later. The tab shows how many you can add.
Choose which AI assistants to check
The Providers tab lists the AI assistants AnswrForge can check. New projects start with ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews enabled.
Click Enable provider or Disable provider on any row. Disabling a provider stops its checks for every prompt but keeps its schedule settings.
Run your first check
- 1Open Runs and click Run check at the top of the page.
- 2Review the prompts, providers, samples and expected answers.
- 3Read Accepting fixes the baseline. Your brand name, other names and domain become fixed, and prompt wording can no longer be edited.
- 4Tick I acknowledge the permanent baseline lock.
- 5Click Confirm run. AnswrForge opens Run progress so you can follow along.
After this first run, you can turn on automatic checks in Setup under Schedule.
